OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Brane has the expertise and technology to dream big in an industry with massive, unlocked potential. Success in this role is supporting Brane’s growing business by building out an accounting department that enables efficient operations while ensuring strong governance and financial management.

The Controller will report to the CFO. The position will be hands-on and is responsible the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. The Controller will work with the CFO to develop the financial operations and reporting processes of the business as needs evolve and grow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, payroll, and financial reporting needs of the business.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS reporting standards and policies.
  • Prepare month-end, quarterly and annual financial statements and supplemental reporting (MD&A).
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of financial information contained in annual information filings including proxy circulars.
  • Manage the annual external audit.
  • Ensure the company complies with all Canada and US tax regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a documented system of procedures and internal controls to ensure the efficient operation of the accounting department, accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with TSX requirements.

MUST HAVES

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • 5 years+ of post-designation accounting experience.
  • Public company experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

NICE TO HAVES

  • Crypto-currency and Blockchain knowledge/industry experience.
